"This is an ideal way of promoting networks"
The state of Baden-Württemberg is a significant contributor to HIDSS4Health, providing over 1.2 million euros in supplementary funding for the school from 2021 to 2024. What factors led policymakers to view the HIDSS4Health concept with such favor? To gain insight, we consulted with Dr. Simone Schwanitz, Senior Ministry Official at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science.
Curriculum
Supervision is key to the programme, with feedback from a Thesis Advisory Committee. It includes courses in 'Data Science & Health' and 'Advanced Topics in Data Science & Health', with specialisation options. Participants engage in a 3-month international exchange. HIDA organises summer schools for networking. The programme provides training in diverse skills, support for internationalisation, networking and career development. Graduates receive a certificate as "Data Scientist" in Health Applications.
